What did we do well for you? From the beginning and throughout 9-10 weeks of weekly surgical care for a large callus and open wound foot ulcer, the growth was arrested, infection controlled, and excellent surgical repair and restoration made to the wound. Where can we improve? Keep on keepin' on! Every time was a good experience! Everyone up front was totally "pro" and had a sense of humor to prove it. The staff in back was on equal par, and Paul Fawson, DPM has very skilled hands and a balance of technique that are tailored individually well!

This is unfortunately the second time I had to have this surgery. The first surgery with another doctor over 10 years ago was painful and stressful. This surgery was such a different experience! Less pain, more support, additional information, and physical therapy, not to mention the amazing staff! Where can we improve? How do you improve on perfection?

"My name’s Julie Carey and I’m a teacher. I had been struggling with plantar fasciitis for a year and a half and it initially began when I was on a run a week before I left the country to teach in Jakarta, Indonesia. I couldn’t function normally in the world. I was on crutches and taped up and icing and doing exercises and all of those things and finally decided to come back to the U.S. and get surgery on my foot. I came back and found Dr. O. She did as many conservative treatments as she could think of, but unfortunately, after about 6 months she finally told me that a second surgery was necessary. At that point I was really at the end of my rope. It had been about two years since I’d led a normal life - everything in my life had stopped, I was desperate. I was really scared of doing surgery a second time, but Dr. O. had worked with a friend of mine and she really trusted her and so I went in and got the second surgery and three months later, I discovered that after three months in a cast, I realized it had worked. My life is back!  This became kind of a second home for me. I came out here all of the time and everybody was always very nice and very professional and I felt like I was being taken care of well.  If there was anyone I knew that had this kind of pain or problem, I would absolutely recommend Dr. O."

"My name is Maggie Murphy and I work for Comcast. I was starting to encounter quite a bit of pain, both in my left and right feet. Both plantar fasciitis and some heel problems that were significant enough to cause me a great deal of pain. They always asked me that, when I came into the office, on a level from 1-10 and it was easily a 10. It was in the back of my foot and I do a lot of walking in my job, which is sales. It just made it extraordinarily difficult, not only to do my job effectively but to just wear shoes.  I came in to see Dr. O. I really felt strongly about seeing a doctor instead of going to an orthotic store. Thank goodness that I found them - I’m thrilled that I found them. I love Dr. O. I feel really comfortable here. All the ladies here are so welcoming and kind and warm and it just feels right. Dr. O kind of took one look at me and she knew by asking me several questions about my daily life and the shoes that I wear and so on and so forth, she was able to diagnose my problems relatively quick. We talked about a variety of different treatments and what I like about Dr. O is that she’s extremely conservative. She’s not one that is going to put you on some plan that is not only going to cost you an arm and a leg but she just is very careful about the treatment options that she recommends, and pain laser is one that she highly recommended for me and I’m so glad she did because it worked. Literally after the first five treatments out of ten, I noticed a considerable difference. My right foot certainly is quite a bit better and we’re still working on my left. I feel so much better. It’s made a world of difference because every day I was in a great deal of pain.  It’s very relaxing! It’s almost like a spa treatment. You just come in and you are in a very comfortable position. They put some pain laser on you and you don’t even feel it - I sit there and I either read or I’m on my phone and it’s ten minutes and it’s done. Sometimes you’ll even walk out of the office feeling immediately better. To walk around with pain every day and all day is dramatic, and you never know how dramatic it is until after you’ve been treated, and then you finally realize, ‘Wow, I lived with this pain for so long and it was excruciating, and now I don’t!’ It was not invasive, it was very comfortable, what more can you ask for?"

"I had a significant problem with my left foot. Apparently I was getting some arthritis in my foot. I could barely walk. I came in to see Dr. O and she got me some inserts and some pain cream for it, and I’m about  80% improved, which I am delighted about.  Very pleasant, very professional, very good. "My name is Wes Roberts, I’m an international leadership mentor. One day I was having extreme pain in my right foot then I thought, ‘Wow, what’s going on?’ I’m a fairly active man, I do a lot of hiking here in Colorado, things like that. I’m 72 years old right now so I want to make sure I’m healthy as long as I can be. I called up another doctor, a very prominent man here in the community and said, ‘Who do you take your feet to?’ and he was the one who mentioned Dr. Oberholtzer-Classen.  My wife is a former nurse, so we understand a bit of medical technology and things like that, and when you’re dealing with your feet, you want to make sure that somebody is going to take good care of you. The wild part of working with her was that I needed three surgeries. She said we can do them one at a time or we can do them all at a time, and I’m the kind of guy that says, ‘Let’s go for the whole thing.’ It was amazing. I was off my foot for a while, but the care that she gave me consistently, even when I needed some extra care, the staff that she has working for her are just tremendous people.  That’s part of the thing of what I really like about this practice, is that they are people first before they are professionals but you can trust all of their professionalism as well. They treat  you as a person, where I’m sure you’ve been a lot of places where you’re just treated as ‘next’. What they’ve done for me and what they’ve done for other friends that I’ve recommended here has been just significant. One of the things that I like about what happens here is that they are not satisfied until you are completely well and functioning at your maximum level. That’s what brought me back even a second time, when I had another round, I had a hiking accident where I stepped off a curb wrong and that kind of jarred everything. Again, the physical therapy department, the PAs here, right from the time you walk in, they are people you can trust. Nobody’s paying me to say this, I’m saying it because I really trust this practice and that’s why I can recommend other people - even people who live outside of Denver, when they come to visit me as a leadership mentor, to say if you’re having trouble, I know just the person you need to see. It’s very warm and friendly. The atmosphere here is one that I enjoy. Sometimes you go to a doctor’s office and nobody talks to you, but the people, from the time that you walk in, are really personable, they  know your name, they know who you are, they don’t forget it the next time, so you’re not a number, you’re an individual. That’s another thing, because of my work with developing leaders, it’s important to me to know that I’m coming to a place where they know who I am and know what I need and takes care of it."
