Dr. Katherine Heugel has grown up in a variety of places and has lived in seven different states. She was settled long enough to receive her Bachelors of Science in Biology from Juniata College and went on to pursue her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine Degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Remaining in Philadelphia, Dr.Heugel completed her four-year foot and ankle surgical residency at the esteemed University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Medical Centre.
In residency, she gained familiarity with both the medical and surgical management of a wide range of conditions as they present in the foot and ankle. She translated this education into finding a niche in the diagnosis of and management of usual cases as they present in the foot and ankle.
Dr. Heugel strives to listen to her patients and encourages a holistic approach, understanding that you cannot separate the person from their foot ailment. She strives to educate her patients and encourage care discussions. Bringing with her six years of clinical experience, Dr. Heugel approaches the diagnosis, and management of any foot ailment be it an ingrown nail, a traumatic injury or a surgical consult with compassion. Dr. Heugel strives for her patient’s to feel valued and receive quality care.
A recent transplant from South Carolina, Dr Heugel is looking forward to exploring all that natural beauty and cultural events Colorado has to offer. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her horse Jupiter, reading novels and travelling around the globe with her husband.
