How many days a week should I work out?

Working outIf you are starting to work out after a period of being sedentary, do not over do it. I recommend working out 3 days per week at first and limiting exercise to cardio workouts only. This helps you get used to moving again. After 2-4 weeks of this schedule, you can increase your workouts to 5 times per week. At this time, it is important to continue your 3 days of cardio and to add 2 days of weight training.

While often overlooked, it is important to add weight training to your regime. Weight training makes your muscles and bones stronger and this allows you to burn more calories every day without adding more activity.
