Physical Therapy Visits: The Road to Recovery

Physical Therapy VisitsThe number of physical therapy visits it takes to fully recover depends on many different factors. A 90 year old will not heal as quickly as a 16 year old; and a chronic injury will not heal as quickly as an acute one. However, a good rule of thumb is to predict 6-10 visits for acute conditions, and 10-20 visits for chronic. Initially you will come 2-3 times per week to assure that you are correctly doing your exercises. After progress is being made, it is not uncommon to visit just 1-2 times per week until your symptoms are resolved.

The duration of most physical therapy treatment plans is 4-6 weeks, but can be more if necessary.

Besides age and injury, insurance can also be a factor in your amount of your visits. Just as acute and chronic conditions vary, so do insurance companies. Some certify 60 visits per year, whereas others only approve 20.

At Castle Pines Physical Therapy we want you to be knowledgeable about all of the services you receive, so that you know what to expect from your treatment. For every new patient we take the time to call your insurance company and verify your eligibility and benefits. We will go over this information on your first visit including your co-pay, any visit limitations, and what amounts will be applied to your deductible or out of pocket maximum. If you would like to know before you come in, just give us a call at 303-805-5156.

If you don’t have insurance, or have a high deductible, don’t worry. We offer special treatment packages for such situations:

$499 Plan—includes 6 visits

$799 Plan—consists of 10 visits

For both, the initial evaluation lasts 60 minutes and return visits will take 30.

We are here for you, and will do everything possible to assure that your physical therapy visits are top notch and that you are well educated on your plan of care as well as insurance coverage. If you have any questions, contact Dr. Jennifer Molner at 303-805-5156 today.
